Ramsdens Cup: Formartine into quarter finals

FORMARTINE reached the last eight of the Ramsdens Cup last night by coming from behind to knock ten-man Elgin City out 5-1 with a second-half hat-trick from Cammy Keith paving the way for their success.

Elgin started well and Sean Crighton headed home a Paul Harkins corner after six minutes. However, five minutes later Jamie Duff’s clearance was diverted to Mike Ewen and he tapped in, with Dennis Wyness and Shane Sutherland then hitting the woodwork for the visitors before half-time.

Six minutes after the break Crighton was dismissed for hand-ball and Keith netted the penalty. Elgin hit the post with a Duff effort before Keith slid in to make it 3-1 and the striker completed his treble on 61 minutes with a shot, before Craig McKeown’s injury-time free-kick rounding things off.
