Match report; Raith Rovers 3 - 2 Hamilton

Struggling Raith Rovers earned three points with a victory that was made over the Forth in Gorgie, writes Iain Collin.

ONE OF a trio of Hearts’ rising stars sent this week on loan to Kirkcaldy, Jason Holt, made the early breakthrough, his ninth-minute tap-in coming after Hamilton keeper David Hutton spilled a shot from David Smith, another of the Hearts youngsters. Accies hit back with a magnificent 16th-minute equaliser, crafted and scored by Dougie Imrie. However, Rovers effectively secured victory when Jamie Walker, the third of the Tynecastle kids, had a shot blocked by Hutton and Denis Prychynenko, already on loan from Hearts, bundled in.

Smith got in on the act 11 minutes from time with a superb drive. Raith’s David McGurn saved James Chambers’ late penalty but Mark McLaughlin netted a late Accies consolation.
