Division One: Falkirk give new boss his first win

Falkirk 4, Morton 1

Falkirk beat Morton to hand Gary Holt his first win as manager. The Bairns came from behind to reclaim third place in the First Division.

Against the run of play, Ton defender Mark McLaughlin drove a low left-footed drive into the net in the 27th minute. But Falkirk turned the game around in five second-half minutes. Craig Sibbald levelled, before Lyle Taylor converted a penalty.

The third arrived when Kieran Duffie placed a cool finish beyond David Hutton, and Sean Higgins completed the scoring.

Dumbarton 0, Partick Thistle 0

Partick Thistle and Dumbarton have both enjoyed successful seasons but it didn’t show here. Scott Agnew nearly broke the deadlock on 27 minutes when he worked his way into the box and nearly scored from a tight angle. Glenn Daniels was beaten but saw the shot blocked on the line.

Thistle’s Ross Forbes sent a curling free-kick just wide and, in the 67th minute, Agnew hit a shot from range which hit the post.

In the 78th minute, Chris Erskine played in Stuart Bannigan, who was unmarked in the box. However, he took too long to take the shot and the ball was blocked by a defender.

Livingston 2, Raith Rovers 3

Brian Graham’s injury-time winner completed a wild finish and put a dampener on Livingston’s goodbye to long-time servant Liam Fox. The midfielder – captain for the day and given a guard of honour prior to kick off – is set to depart in the summer after seven years at the West Lothian Club and looked to have a happy farewell when Iain Russell scrambled home an equaliser from an injury time set piece.

However, from the resulting kick off Graham took advantage of some confusion in defence to rifle home on the half-volley for his 18th league goal of the campaign and leave Fox slumped in disbelief at the full-time whistle.

Both goals were preceded by strikes from Grant Anderson and Graham for Raith and Fox himself from a penalty.
