Rae returns to Dundee

Dundee have brought back Gavin Rae to the club in a bid to boost their First Division campaign.

Rae has been a free agent since being released by Cardiff City at the end of last season and he has kept himself in shape by training with the Championship club as he looked to find a new employer. That search is now over for the 33-year-old who played for the Dark Blues for seven seasons before joining Rangers in January 2004.

Rae, capped 14 times by Scotland, spent four years at Cardiff and looked set for a move to Aberdeen in the summer. However that failed to materialise and moves to his wife’s homeland of Australia also did not come to anything. He goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game against Ross County.
