Queen of the South calm ahead of Brechin game

Queen of the South’s training headquarters at Glasgow Green was an oasis of calm yesterday as player/manager Allan Johnston prepared his side for tonight’s game against Brechin City where a win would see the Doonhamers clinch the Second Division title.

Johnston said: “We are pretty relaxed about things, but that is the way we have been all season. When you are on the run we have been on there is no need to change anything.

“Our philosophy has been to score as many goals as we can and win games. We have stuck to that throughout the season and even when we lost our only game at Alloa in December, and people thought we would wobble, we stuck to it. Thirteen wins and two draws since then is not a bad way to respond.”

Midfielder Ian McShane remains out with a hip problem with everyone else available to Johnston, for the clash which has been switched to Forfar’s Station Park due to waterlogging at Brechin’s Glebe Park.
