Preston ease past Eyemouth

Preston opened the scoring in the 15th minute, with McGlashan sending in a cross from the byeline which Kevin Cairnie headed down beyond Eyemouth goalkeeper Gall.

Steven McCormack then doubled the visitors’ lead in the 21st minute with a hanging shot that snuck into the net past Gall again.

In the 62nd minute McGlashan released Sean Martin to strike the killer blow for Preston from the edge of the box. Eyemouth made an effort to respond, but were restricted to a couple of shots from Coyle, one of which struck the upright from 20 yards; the other was sent flying wide from the edge of the area.

With ten minutes remaining, one final effort for United had Coyle setting up Walker at the far post, but Gilpin was able to block the strike to ensure Preston held out for a comfortable three points.
