Pre-season roundup: Aberdeen stroll to Dublin win

Aberdeen began their tour of Ireland with a 4-0 win over University College Dublin at the UCD Bowl with goals from Josh Magennis (2), Jonny Hayes, Niall McGinn and Peter Pawlett. Goals from Kevin Luckassen, Ivan Sproule, Steven Ross and Darren Maatsen earned Ross County a 4-0 victory over Nairn County and Inverness Caledonian Thistle won 2-0 at Brora Rangers with Billy McKay and James Vincent scoring.

Dundee netted twice just before the break to set up their 5-0 success at Clyde with Carlo Monti scoring a penalty and Peter MacDonald heading in to make it two. Jamie Reid curled home the third and Martin Boyle grabbed two late goals.

Former Rangers striker Rory Loy scored twice as a trialist for Falkirk as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Forfar. Will Vaults headed into his own goal to give the Loons the lead however Loy notched a penalty before firing the Bairns ahead.

Brechin City and Dumbarton drew 1-1 with Ross Smith’s header for the Sons cancelled out by Andy Jackson’s penalty and Albion Rovers defeated Stranraer 3-1 with goals from Chris Dallas, Ryan Tiffney and Pat Walker.

Wayne McIntosh hit a hat-trick as Whitehill Welfare defeated Berwick Rangers 4-2.
