Kilmarnock’s first team continues to prepare for the Premiership match with Motherwell after three confirmed cases. The match is still going ahead after the routine pre-match testing, and more will be carried out tomorrow with the three individuals now self-isolating away from Rugby Park.

A club statement said: “Kilmarnock FC can confirm that three individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.

“All three individuals are currently observing a period of self-isolation in line with Scottish Government and Joint Response Group (JRG) protocols and will be the subject of NHS testing today (Wednesday, September 30).

“Further scheduled testing for players and staff will be carried out on Thursday (October 1).

“Preparations for Friday’s Premiership match with Motherwell will continue while everyone wishes those affected a speedy recovery.”

Hamilton confirmed another case a short while later.

The Accies said: “The club can confirm one individual has produced a positive result from Monday’s COVID-19 testing. This individual is now isolating as per Scottish Government and JRG guidelines.”

The Lanarkshire side are due to head to Easter Road and play Hibs as part of the Premiership’s Friday night fixture card.

Earlier this month St Mirren were forced to sign Bobby Zlamal on emergency loan from Hearts when positive tests and protocols forced Jim Goodwin to be without his three first team goalkeepers – Jak Alnwick, Dean Lyness and Peter Urminsky for a match with Hibernian.
