Pires joins Hibs But only for a day

HIBS fans enjoyed the thrill of watching two special ‘loan’ signings in action for their team yesterday, as World Cup winners Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires turned out for the Edinburgh side in a testimonial match for club captain Ian Murray.

The French superstars agreed to play after an approach through Murray’s former Hibs team-mate Jimmy Boco, who is a friend of Vieira.

The current Hibs team drew 5-5 with Hibernian Legends, who featured in their ranks former favourites Russell Latapy, John Collins, Craig Brewster, Guillame Beuzelin and Steven Fletcher.
