Peterhead fined, ordered to replay Ayr fixture

PETERHEAD have been fined and ordered to replay their League One game against Ayr United after playing Reece Donaldson whilst suspended.

The defender, who played the full 90 minutes in the 3-2 win against Ayr on November 15, was also charged by the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) board at a disciplinary hearing on Monday and he too pled guilty.

The Highland club were censured, ordered to replay the match and fined £10,000 (part suspended) while Donaldson is suspended from playing in the replayed fixture.

The date of the replay is still to be arranged.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “In the interests of sporting integrity and fairness to both sides, the game will be replayed.”

Peterhead and the player pled guilty to breaching SPFL Regulation 21 in the SPFL’s Player Registration, Transfer and Contract Regulations.
