West Brom winger Oliver Burke has failed to make the latest Scotland Under-21s squad because of injury.

Captain Burke will miss European qualifiers against Latvia and Ukraine this month as he recovers from a hamstring problem.

St Mirren midfielder Kyle Magennis has been called up to join Paisley team-mates Liam Smith and Lewis Morgan in the squad.

Winger Michael Johnston - who started for Celtic against Kilmarnock on Saturday - has dropped out.

The 18-year-old will instead be involved in a trio of Under-19 European qualifiers against Luxembourg, Armenia and Czech Republic.

Scot Gemmill’s under-21s play both of this month’s qualifiers at McDiarmid Park, facing Latvia on November 10 and Ukraine four days later.
