With the Northern Irishman appointed last night as Alan Stubbs’ successor at Easter Road, his first fixture will be a trip to Shielfield Park on 5 July to face John Coughlin’s League 2 side.

Lennon will then oversee his first match in the capital when Hibs, who report back for training on 23 June, make
the short trip to face near neighbours Edinburgh City at Meadowbank Stadium
on 7 July.

City, who were promoted to the SPFL for the first time in their history last term after wining a play-off against East Stirlingshire, will be hopeful
of a bumper crowd for that clash, with the Scottish Cup also set to be paraded before kick-off.

Hibs’ maiden home game under their new manager will take place on 10 July when Mark McGhee’s Motherwell are the visitors to Easter Road in their final friendly before Hibs’ European campaign begins.

Thanks to their thrilling 3-2 Scottish Cup final victory over Rangers at Hampden last month, Hibs will enter the Europa League at the second qualifying round on 14 July.

That is one round later than Premiership sides Aberdeen and Hearts, who will play their first matches on 30 June.
