Neil Lennon confirmed as Hibs boss on two-year deal

Hibs have confirmed that Neil Lennon is their new head coach.

The former Celtic and Bolton Wanderers manager has signed a two-year deal to succeed Scottish Cup-winning boss Alan Stubbs at Easter Road. Lennon will be assisted by former Leicester City team-mate Garry Parker, his first-team coach duing his previous managerial roles.

Hibs chairman Rod Petrie was delighted to get his man after talks at the club’s East Mains training centre this evening.

He said: “We are delighted to have secured a head coach of Neil’s calibre and profile, and we look forward to him bringing his drive and mentality to our campaign to win the Championship this season and secure promotion back to the top flight of Scottish football.”

Lennon, 44, is due to travel to France later this week where he is part of BBC Television’s team of pundits for the Euro 2016 finals.

The Hibs squad are scheduled to return to pre-season training in a fortnight and will face their opening Europa League qualifier on July 14.
