Mowbray to help out Boro in UEFA clash

HIBS boss Tony Mowbray is hoping to help Middlesbrough dump Dnipro out of the UEFA Cup by handing over a dossier on the Ukrainian side.

Dnipro, who knocked Hibs out of the competition 5-1 on aggregate in the last round of the competition, were drawn against the Premiership outfit in Group D yesterday.

Now Mowbray, who played for the Riverside club between 1981-1991, is ready to help Steve McLaren's side find a way to go one better then Hibs.

Mowbray said: "I'm happy to help Middlesbrough out, and I think they would have more than enough quality to beat Dnipro."

Also drawn in Group D were last season's semi-finalists AZ Alkmaar, Grasshoppers of Zurich and Bulgarians Litex Lovech.

However, Alkmaar coach Louis van Gaal believes that Dnipro - and not Middlesbrough - are his club's biggest danger despite the fact his side are top of the Dutch league, he said: "They have a 60 per cent chance of going further in the Cup and we 40 per cent."
