McManus in second Bristol loan spell

BRISTOL CITY have re-signed Middlesbrough defender Stephen McManus on a 93-day emergency loan, subject to approval.

The 30-year-old Scotland international, who spent a brief spell at Ashton Gate towards the end of last season, has made only one league appearance for his parent club this season.

McManus joined Middlesbrough from Celtic, where he was club captain,  in 2010.

City manager Derek McInnes said: “Last season I felt he came in and gave us a real lift. Hopefully he can do something similar this time around.”
