McIntyre sets his sights on another away day success

Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre is eyeing a third successive away three points but he knows the Pars are in for a tough test today against Kilmarnock.

The Ayrshire side suffered their first SPL defeat of the season just before the international break, conceding a late goal in a 2-1 defeat at Inverness.

“We’re delighted with our away form,” McIntyre said. “We’ve had wee bits of luck along the way allied to good performances. I’ve watched them twice myself and I know how good a side they are.

“They knock the ball about well, it’s entertaining for their punters so we know how difficult a game it will be. They will be looking to bounce back also from their defeat up at Inverness.”

Kilmarnock youngster Alex Pursehouse has been dreaming of first-team football since making his debut at home against Celtic at the end of last season. The 19-year-old former Tranmere youth player came on as a second-half substitute and held his own in that match despite the 2-0 defeat.

Pursehouse has been on the fringes this season but with defender Danny Buijs out with a hamstring injury, he is set to make his first start this afternoon.
