McInnes sets sights high

Derek McInnes wants to see St Johnstone side to extend their unbeaten run to four games when they travel to St Mirren tomorrow.

After the international break, the Perth side’s manager is relishing the resumption of league business and said: “We had a win at Parkhead, a comfortable home cup win against Livingston and scored another three goals in the draw against Dundee United so we are carrying a threat.

“I am more than pleased with what I’m seeing. We have had one poor result, against Dunfermline, but I wasn’t disheartened by the performance. We were disappointed that we didn’t pick up all three points against United because we were the better side for 80 minutes. We need to learn to see games out.”
