Mancini slams ‘unacceptable’ Tevez after sub refuses to come on in loss

manchester CITY suffered a night to forget in Munich last night after losing 2-0 to Bayern at the Allianz Arena – and it got even worse when substitute striker Carlos Tevez appeared to refuse to come on to the pitch as a replacement.

As a result, Roberto Mancini says Carlos Tevez is finished at Manchester City if he has his way.

Edin Dzeko was replaced by Nigel de Jong in the second half and soon after the City boss asked Tevez to warm up, but Mancini claims he refused to do as he had been asked.

Mancini now believes Tevez’s position at the club is untenable.

Asked if Tevez was finished at City, Mancini said: “I don’t decide this, but if I did, then yes. I helped Carlos for two years but I cannot accept this behaviour.”

A first-half double from Mario Gomez gave Bayern a comfortable win in a match they dominated from the beginning.

In the other match in Group A, Napoli defeated Villarreal 2-0.

Manchester United suffered a massive scare at home to Basel. Leading 2-0 at half time, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side found themselves 3-2 down before Ashley Young scored late on. Benfica defeated Otelul 1-0 in Romania, leaving United third in Group C.

In Group B, Inter Milan beat CSKA Moscow 3-2 in Russia, while Trabzonspor and Lille drew 1-1 in Turkey. In Group D, Real Madrid defeated Ajax 3-0 in the Spanish capital, while Lyon defeated Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in France.
