Manchester United - 3

Rashford 29,32; Herrera 65

Welbeck 40, Özil 69

Only playing because of United’s chronic injury crisis, 18-year-old Rashford marked his league debut by scoring a quick-fire double in the first half – he slammed home the opener in the 29th minute and added a powerful header three minutes later. The two goals came three days after a double in the Europa League against FC Midtjylland on his debut.

Former United striker Danny Welbeck replied for Arsenal, before Rashford set up Ander Herrera for a shot that deflected in off Laurent Koscielny.

Mezut Özil pulled one back for 3-2 on 69 minutes but United hung on to move three points off the top four and dent Arsenal’s title hopes.
