Mackie dedicates goal to his ill friend

Jamie Mackie dedicated his goal against Swansea to close friend Martin Bullen who is suffering from cancer, as QPR claimed a 1-1 draw against Swansea on Tuesday evening.

Mackie slotted home his second goal in as many games for the London side, as the 26-year-old continues to impress following his return from a seven month injury lay-off with a broken leg. Yet, such fleeting fitness worries are put into perspective when he considers the treatment his friend has endured during the festive period.

Following a passionate celebration at the Liberty Stadium, the Scotland striker said: “That celebration was for Bully. I just looked into the camera and said: ‘That’s for you, Bully.’ He’s been ill over Christmas. He’s got cancer and wasn’t able to come to the game, so that was for him.”
