Livingston 4-0 Alloa: White bags a hat-trick

Livingston’s club shop introduced a new range of garments prior to their home match against Alloa, with customers able to hungrily snap up their “Feed the Hippo” T-shirts in honour of striker Myles Hippolyte.

As it happens, the home side were able to satisfy their appetite for goals without any intervention from Almondvale’s cult hero, with Jordan White gorging himself on a hat-trick.

Hippolyte, who boasts four goals in nine outings, had to be content with a place on the bench until his crowd-pleasing introduction in the second period.

By that point the game was already safely in the bag. Callum Fordyce had opened the scoring, defeating some statuesque marking to nod home Jason Talbot’s corner. White then proceeded to steal the show.

The rangy forward out-jumped Alloa goalkeeper Craig McDowall, who did not enjoy a positive afternoon, to nod home Keaghan Jacobs’ deep free kick in the first-half.

White doubled his money in the second period, lashing into the net from close range after McDowall spilled a relatively ordinary Gary Glen shot.

And White secured ownership of the match ball when he fired into the roof of the net following a scramble inside the box. He has surely done enough to warrant a song of his own. Maybe even a T-shirt.

“It’s the middle of September and Jordan is sitting on seven goals,” lauded Livingston manager John McGlynn. “I’m delighted for him and I’m sure there’s a few more to come.

“His work rate is tremendous as well, that appealed to me. If you are going to play in one of my teams you need that.

“Saturday is probably not even the best performance we have had, but if you are not happy with a 4-0 win then you never will be.”

Alloa manager Barry Smith, meanwhile, said: “It was a bad day at the office.”
