Livingston 2-2 Morton: McGlynn faces challenge

JOHN McGlynn faces a difficult task to drag Livingston up the table after watching his new side scrape a draw with Morton.

The visitors would have taken all three points if it wasn’t for a sluggish start in which they went 2-0 down inside 15 minutes.

Martin Scott crossed for Simon Mensing to head the visitors in front. Ten minutes later the midfielder was the architect once again, slipping in Marc McNulty to round the goalkeeper and finish from an angle.

Morton were impressive once they got going and only Kevin Walker in the Livingston goal denied them victory. The 22-year-old made two fingertip saves in the first half and another from Tony Wallace late on to help secure a point.

The goal that put Morton back into the match was a perfectly executed training ground routine that allowed Reece Hands the space to curl the ball into the corner of the net from 20 yards. Then, on the stroke of half time, Dougie Imrie’s shot from a similar position was spilled by Walker and after a scramble Kabba Cham tapped it home.

Wallace, Imrie and Hands all came close in the second half but the hosts held on.
