Livingston 0-2 Morton

Morton dismissed the pre-conceived notion that they had given up on their ultimately fruitless dreams of promotion with a comfortable win in Livingston.

Scorers: Morton - Campbell 43; Wilkie 55

The visitors had to be patient for most of the first half, when their domination failed to transfer itself into chances.

It would be Kyle Wilkie who ignited the game five minutes before the interval. The midfielder’s curling right-foot strike from 25 yards crashed off the crossbar into the six-yard box where an off-balance Colin McMenamin failed to net the rebound.

Morton became more expansive in their play and McMenamin atoned for the miss with an assist for the opener. The striker, released on the left by a through-ball from Tony Wallace, clipped over a cross for Archie Campbell to touch and power home.

After the restart, Livingston continued to be outmatched by their opponents who ended the contest within ten minutes.

Wilkie received a seemingly innocuous ball 25 yards out, dummied one defender, flicked it around another before slotting through the keeper’s legs.
