AFC Bournemouth player loses ‘wig’ during match

FOOTBALL regularly lives up to its ‘funny old game’ status, but every now and then something happens that can’t be explained.

Take last night’s League Cup match between AFC Bournemouth and Liverpool, at the Cherries’ Dean Court stadium, for example.

19-year-old Baily Cargill started at centre half for Eddie Howe’s team, and impressed despite Liverpool running out eventual 3-1 winners thanks to a Raheem Sterling double and Lazar Markovic’s first goal.

But Cargill really caught the eye when part of his hair appeared to fly off as he completed a pass.

Top marks to the youngster - yet to make a Championship start for Bournemouth - as he pretended nothing had happened.

Hopefully Cargill will come clean in the next few days and clarify what really happened.
