Linfield v Celtic will not take place on 12 July - reports

Should Linfield make their way past La Fiorita and set-up a second qualifying clash with Celtic, the match will not take place on 12 July, according to reports.

The first leg is scheduled to take place on either 11 or 12 July with the return fixture set to occur at Celtic Park the following week.

Should the Belfast side defeat their San Marino opponents in the first round, the game could kick-off on a key date in the marching calendar, with a potential security issue due to heightened sectarian tensions.

However, according to Northern Irish journalist Steven Beacom, the two clubs have already agreed that the game will not take place on 12 July.

Linfield are managed by former Rangers striker David Healy and pipped Crusaders to the title last season.
