The six-times capped Northern Ireland international scored 17 goals for County this season before New Year before breaking his hand and his new deal is a major boost to the Staggies.

The 24-year-old also
netted 11 times in his debut season for County last term after scoring 60 goals in two seasons with Cliftonville, after returning from an unsuccessful spell with Werder Bremen.

Ross County manager Jim McIntyre said last night: “It’s a hugely significant piece of business. Liam Boyce is a huge player for us.

“He enjoys the set-up here and it’s good for him to earn that contract extension.

“When you’ve scored 17 goals in 24 games you’re going to have suitors so it was important to get him signed up.”
