Lennon in bullish mood as Saints seek first victory

Danny Lennon has declared himself in the right frame of mind to kickstart St Mirren’s season against Motherwell this weekend.

The Paisley club’s manager has found himself under increasing pressure after a difficult start to the campaign, which has
seen Saints fail to pick up a
victory so far.

Lennon’s own position at St Mirren Park has been the subject of recent speculation but, as league business resumes after the international break, he
insists he is ready for the
challenges ahead.

He said: “It’s a part of a journey that every manager goes through, some more than once. It’s part and parcel of the job.

“I won’t lie, it’s not a pleasant part of the journey but it’s an
experience I will take with me.

“But, let me assure you, Danny Lennon is in a good frame of mind and very keen and eager to kickstart our season.

“There is nobody in that dressing room moping around and feeling sorry for themselves.

“The players are now stepping up to the plate and showing their true character. I can see that on a daily basis.”

Motherwell travel to St Mirren Park tomorrow afternoon in third place in the Scottish Premiership, with Saints second bottom.

Lennon added: “Motherwell are a very good side and, no
disrespect to them, but this game is all about what we bring to it and our 100 per cent focus will be on that.”
