League One round-up: Livingston edge closer to title despite draw

Livingston took a tentative step to the League One title after settling for a point in a 1-1 draw at Queen's Park. It moves them seven points clear at the top with closest challengers Alloa inactive.

Sean Crighton had an early chance for Livingston but put his header wide of target after Mark Millar had picked him out with a free-kick.

Scott Pittman gave Livingston the lead when he thumped the ball home at the back post after Rafa De Vita had flicked the ball on.

But Queen’s Park were level after 20 minutes when on-loan Dario Zanatta found the bottom corner of the net with a shot from just outside the area and there was no more scoring.

Airdrieonians lost 2-1 at home to ten-man Stranraer and also missed a penalty. Craig Malcolm headed Stranraer in front early in the second half but the visitors were reduced to ten men when Morgyn Neill was sent off ,Cammie Belford saving the resultant penalty from Iain Russell. Ryan Thomson netted the visitors’ second goal after 69 minutes before Andy Ryan scored a last-minute consolation.

East Fife beat Albion Rovers 2-0, both goals coming from Chris Duggan in the second half.

Stenhousemuir’s 3-1 victory over ten-man Peterhead was not enough to move them off the bottom. Alan Cook gave them a tenth-minute lead and Mason Robertson doubled that six minutes later. Peterhead’s top scorer Rory McAllister was sent off for remarks made to the referee but although Jordon Brown pulled a goal back for Peterhead, Colin McMenamin made it 3-1.
