Annan established a three-point lead at the top after defeating third-placed visitors Queen’s Park 3-1.

The Hampden side’s Joe Bradley rattled a post before Annan’s Matty Flynn released Smart Osadolor to score on 36 minutes. Peter Weatherson flicked home a corner in 42 minutes, but the Spiders made a game of it as Paul Woods volleyed home

Annan sealed the win in injury time through Josh Todd.

Galabank manager Jim Chapman said: “I am delighted to get a win in what was a very tough game. The players worked really hard for the three points against a Queen’s Park side that had a lot of the ball.”

Queen’s boss Gus MacPherson said: “We have to turn having a lot of the ball into goals and wins. Annan know how to win games without being on top for long spells and they showed that in this one.”

East Fife sit second after a last gasp 1-1 draw at Berwick Rangers. The Borderers’ Ross Drummond was sent off five minutes from half-time, but Colin Cameron’s side went ahead on the hour when Finn Graham scored from 25 yards.

Berwick were denied the victory when their former player Kyle Wilkie headed in via the bar with a minute left.

Arbroath earned Angus bragging rights with a 3-1 success over Montrose at Gayfield where Bobby Linn scored in each half, Greg Rutherford came off the bench as a trialist to grab a third before Graham Webster pulled a goal back.

Stirling Albion defeated Clyde 1-0 at Broadwood thanks to Sandy Cunningham’s goal, Albion’s Craig Comrie was dismissed with five minutes left.

Bottom side East Stirling ended a six-game losing run by defeating Elgin 2-0, Jonathan Court and Alastair Roy netting either side of half-time.
