Kovacevic was joined at Victoria Park by Swiss-Serb defender Branislav Micic, Canadian internationalist Andre Hainault, German striker Steffen Wohlfarth and Greek left back Evangelos Oikonomou.

Kovacevic, part of the United team who defeated County at Hampden in May 2010 but now hoping to help the Dingwall side qualify for Europe, believes Adams is adept at attracting the right characters regardless of geography. Kovacevic said: “It takes players of a certain mind-set to make the transition successfully from their previous league to Scottish football. Some players need more time and some need less. I am used to Scottish football having played here with Dundee United previously, but it is noticeable just how well the new players who have come in here have settled.

“Players need the right attitude, it is different from other countries here. It is much more about running and fighting in Scotland, but we like to play too here at this club. I know how it is for players who come here from abroad and I like to think I can help them bed in.”
