Johnson back with Yeovil

GARY Johnson has made a surprise return to Yeovil for a second spell as manager.

Johnson replaces Terry Skiverton – who will now act as assistant manager – seven years after leaving for Bristol City.

Since leaving Yeovil in 2005 – after guiding them from the Conference to League One – Johnson has endured an up-and-down career. He guided Bristol City to the brink of the Barclays Premier League in 2008, when they were beaten in the Championship play-off final by Hull. Unsuccessful spells at Peterborough and Northampton followed.

Johnson will take charge of tonight’s npower League One clash with Sheffield United.
