Joey Barton suggests Brendan Rodgers suffering '˜mid-life crisis'

Joey Barton has suggested Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is going through a 'mid-life crisis'.

The Rangers midfielder made the insinuation while appearing on Alan Brazil’s Talksport programme.

When asked if he’d bumped into the Celtic manager while out in Glasgow, Barton said he was unlikely to because they live contrasting lifestyles.

He said: “The places he goes and the places I go probably differ, with the tan and the teeth and all that.

“They’re not the kind of establishments I rock up at, I’m not having a mid-life crisis.”

Barton has previously thrown jibes at Celtic midfielder Scott Brown, who he insists is “not in his league”.

The first Old Firm match of the season will take place on 10 September at Celtic Park.
