Mark Warburton’s men face the biggest test of their campaign on Sunday when they go head-to-head with their Old Firm foes in the semi-finals of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Ronny Deila’s team will be the fourth Ladbrokes Premiership side the newly-crowned Championship winners have faced this term.

They suffered defeat by St Johnstone in the League Cup but, after disposing of Kilmarnock in a replay at Rugby Park, set up their Hoops clash by crushing Dundee with a 4-0 win in the last eight at Ibrox.

Top-flight champions-elect Celtic have already been installed as firm favourites for this weekend’s duel but, after backing up their league triumph with Sunday’s 4-0 Petrofac Training Cup final victory against Peterhead, midfielder Holt insists confidence is running high at Ibrox.

He said: “We’ve now picked up two medals in a week and I’m delighted – over the moon. You come to a club like Rangers to win silverware and we have managed to do that this season but there are still big games coming up so we look to them. Right now, though, we’re enjoying the moment.

“We’re really looking forward to the Celtic game. The boys got a taste of Hampden on Sunday, the surroundings and so now all focus will be on next week.

“They will be a really big test. They have quality players and they are a good side so they will give us a test but we just need to do the things that we are good at and hopefully it comes good on the day.

“I think we have proved, especially in some of the cup games this season, that we are more than good enough to test Celtic and we look to take that into Sunday. Hopefully it goes well.

“It has been a good season so far, we have secured the league and managed to win the Petrofac Cup yesterday. Next week it is a big game but all the boys are confident going into it.”
