Hamill - who had just scored a penalty to give Hearts a 1-0 lead against the Staggies - kept hold of the ball as he charged along the touchline, dropping it behind him before subsequently running straight into County boss Adams, who fell to the floor.

The defender had already been booked, and received a second yellow card and thus a red for the incident.

The 27-year-old is alleged to have contravened Disciplinary Rule 201: “Excessive misconduct at a match by knocking Derek Adams, manager of Ross County FC, to the ground.”

A principal hearing date has been scheduled for May 8th, with Hamill given until April 30th to respond.
