Israel Women 1 - 6 Scotland Women: Scotland make flying start to Euro 2013
Scotland had identified Israel as a side that defended deep and worked on moves to break down the defence and it didn’t take Anna Signeul’s side long to break the deadlock racing into a two-goal advantage after just nine minutes, Ross and Beattie scoring. A quick break from midfield allowed Moran Lavi to pull a goal back against the run of play on 35 minutes, but Scotland started the second half as they had the first, with Little scoring twice in the first ten minutes to put the game beyond doubt.
The Scotland coach soon changed her side, bringing Suzanne Grant on for Leanne Ross, and it was two Suzanne Grant crosses that gave Scotland their final two goals, with Lauder the beneficiary for Scotland’s fifth, before Israeli defender Ravitz turned the ball into her own net to complete the scoring.
