The Buddies had to postpone last week's clash with Motherwell after an outbreak of Covid-19 cases amongst Jim Goodwin's squad.

Now after reporting a number of fresh positive test results, Saturday's visit of Accies to the Simple Digital Arena has also been axed.

The SPFL said in a statement: "Tomorrow's Scottish Premiership match between St Mirren and Hamilton Academical has been postponed after St Mirren informed the SPFL that they could not fulfil the fixture.

"St Mirren have informed the SPFL that, due to a number of positive tests for Covid-19 amongst their playing squad and coaching staff, and a number of other players who are isolating, they have only 11 registered fit players available for tomorrow's game against Hamilton Academical - and that, as a result, St Mirren are unable to fulfil tomorrow's fixture.

"As a result, and in line with standard procedure, the SPFL have postponed the fixture pending the ongoing investigation into the events at St Mirren."

St Mirren have seen their preparations disrupted by Covid-19 multiple times since clubs returned following the lockdown.

They had to cancel a pre-season match with St Johnstone after seven coaches tested positive, though six of those were later found to be false.

They later had to sign Hearts keeper Zdenek Zlamal on an emergency loan after two positive tests robbed them of their three first-team custodians.
