Partick Thistle apologise to sex abuse victims in Scottish football after SFA report
The governing body called on those mentioned in the report, including Rangers, Hibernian, Motherwell and Celtic Boys Club, to make an "unequivocal and unreserved public apology" to those who suffered under their supervision.
Thistle wasted little time in doing so, releasing a club statement on their website early on Thursday morning where they insisted “the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people associated with the club” will always remain of “paramount importance”.

Hide AdThe statement read in full: “Partick Thistle FC notes the content of the report published today in relation to the independent review of historic sexual abuse in Scottish football.
"We remain committed to cooperating fully with all investigations and we apologise sincerely on behalf of Partick Thistle to anyone personally affected by historic abuse within our game.
"We fully acknowledge the impact of these events and their enduring effect on those affected.
“Thistle regards the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people associated with the club as being of paramount importance.
"Safeguarding is an everyday part of all Thistle does and we will continue to uphold the strictest standards of compliance with all safeguarding legislation, now and in future.”
As part of the SFA review, 33 people, some of whom waived their anonymity, provided personal accounts of their horrific experiences.
SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell said he was “deeply upset” by the report’s contents and reiterated his “sincerest apology” to all those who experienced abuse.
