How the Scotland players rated in nervy 1-0 win over Faroe Islands
Scotland edged past the Faroe Islands to take another step towards the World Cup play-off places.
Lyndon Dykes scored a late winner – his fourth goal in succession – to secure the three points in what was a tricky night in Torshavn.
The home side had the better of the first half and created their fair share of openings but for Scotland it was all about the win even if the performance left a lot to be desired.
Victory means Steve Clarke's men are now just a win away from securing a World Cup play-off spot with the next match against minnows Moldova in November.
So, how did the Scotland players rate out of ten?
Player ratings scale - 10: One of the best performances you've seen. 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7: Good. 6: Average. 5: Poor, 4: Very poor. 3: A terrible day at the office. 2: Abysmal. 1: One of the worst performances you've seen.

5. Ryan Fraser - 5
Brought into the side to provide a crossing threat from wide but was rarely seen in an attacking sense. Decision to replace Nathan Patterson didn’t work. Patterson provided the assist for the opening goal.

6. Scott McTominay - 6
There were two sides to the midfielder’s game. He provided verticality to the Scotland midfield with his running, getting into good positions three times but squandering the opportunities. In possession and defensively was loose with the ball and generally wayward.

7. Billy Gilmour - 6
Started strongly and went on one mazy run which opened up the game. But overall didn’t have the control and influence you would expect from a player of his quality. Turned into a goal threat in the second half going close on a couple occasions.

8. Andrew Robertson - 5
Some decent link up play with Tierney but had some erratic crossing and nearly made a costly error in trying to read the game and intercept a pass which saw the Faroes break free.
