Forfar Athletic relegated to bottom tier of SPFL despite victory in penultimate game

Forfar Athletic have been relegated to League Two despite winning on the penultimate matchday of the season.

Scott Shepherd scored the winning goal against Peterhead after Scott Brown had cancelled out Forfar’s opener, which came via an own goal from Daniel Strachan.

The Angus side were denied the chance to fight for survival on the final day after Clyde defeated Dumbarton 2-0 at Broadwood.

Forfar will need to step up their search for a new manager as they prepare for life in the SPFL’s bottom tier.
