The Saints will be looking to land their first ever League Cup having been on the losing end of two previous finals, while Livi are aiming to win their second following on from their 2004 success when they defeated Hibs.

Unfortunately for fans of both clubs they will be unable to attend the Betfred Cup showpiece at Mount Florida and will have to watch from home.

It is expected to be a tight affair between two closely-matched sides who sit fifth and eighth respectively, separated by seven points.

Match details: Sunday, February 28. Kick-off 2pm, Hampden Park, Glasgow.

How to watch: The match is being shown live, exclusively on Premier Sports. The subscription channel can be found on Sky, Virgin and netgem.tv. Coverage of the match starts at 1pm.

Extended highlights will be available on the SPFL’s YouTube channel after the match.

Last meeting: St Johnstone ended Livingston’s 14-game unbeaten record with a 2-1 win at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Saints goals arrived from set pieces with Scott Tanser netting a free-kick and Shaun Rooney scoring a header from a free-kick. Livi have the upper hand across the season with 2-0 and 2-1 wins in the first two meetings.

Key players: There will be a number of key battles across the park, as outlined in this article. Much will depend on how Callum Davidson lines up with possible 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 options. Scott Robinson and Jon Guthrie are Livi’s key men, while Saints will likely look to David Wotherspoon and Chris Kane for attacking inspiration.

What the managers have said: Callum Davidson (St Johnstone): “I think it suits a club like St Johnstone to be the underdog. We’re the underdog most of the time anyway. I prefer to play down expectations."

David Martindale (Livingston): “I believe I have four or five players in that changing room who could play at a higher level. This could be a massive turning point in their careers with teams down south maybe looking at them.”
