Alex Neil among favourites to be next Aberdeen manager after leaving Preston

Alex Neil is now one of the leading contenders to become the next manager of Aberdeen, according to the bookmakers.

The former Hamilton Accies head coach is now out of work after leaving Preston North End following almost four years with the English Championship club.

That move saw his odds plummet from 10/1 to 5/2 to succeed Derek McInnes at Pittodrie. He is now the second favourite behind Atlanta United coach Stephen Glass.

The 39-year-old previously won promotion to the English Premier League with Norwich City.
