Aberdeen and Motherwell find out their Europa League opponents

Dons to face Runavik while Well will host Glentoran

Aberdeen will face NSI Runavik in the first qualifying round of the Europa League next week after the team from the Faroe Islands defeated the Welsh side 
Barry Town United 5-1 in a preliminary round tie on Thursday night.

NSI set up the clash at Pittodrie after a second-half hat-trick from captain Klaemint Olsen. In addition, strikes from Petur Knudsen and substitute Steffan Lokin helped dump out 
Barry Town for whom Kayne McLaggon claimed a late consolation goal.

Motherwell, meanwhile, will take on Glentoran after the team from Northern Ireland beat another Faroese side, HB Torshavn, 1-0 at home.

Robbie McDaid’s thumping volley just before half-time settled the preliminary round match at The Oval in Belfast.

Victory for the Irish Cup holders means they will travel to Scotland next week for a first qualifying round match at Fir Park.

Fellow Northern Irish side Coleraine also progressed, defeating La Fiorita of San Marino 1-0 following a dramatic late winner from James McLaughlin at The Showgrounds.

The game was ticking towards extra-time when forward McLaughlin latched on to a long ball to break the deadlock for the dominant hosts in the 89th minute.

Coleraine, the Irish Premiership runners-up last season, have been drawn away to Slovenian club Maribor in the first qualifying round.
