Highland League: Cove win puts them top

ROY McBain believes Cove Rangers have taken a huge psychological stride forward by beating Wick Academy.

McBain showed his class and experience in a 3-1 victory for the Aberdeen side at Allan Park, the win hoisting Cove a point above the Caithness side, who had led the table before the game. For McBain, it was a significant win.

The 38-year-old, on loan from Peterhead, said: “Had it gone the other way, Wick would have taken a five-point lead on us.”
