Highland League: Cove have Forres in their sights

DANNY Milne believes Cove Rangers can overturn Forres Mechanics’ eight-point title lead.

The Cove striker scored twice as his side defeated Buckie Thistle 3-0 at Allan Park while Forres held firm with a 3-1 win over Deveronvale. Milne said: “There’s no reason why we can’t go on and win it.”

Forres came back from a goal down against Deveronvale before securing a comfortable victory. Nairn County remained second with a 2-0 win at Strathspey while Lossiemouth secured a 2-1 victory over Inverurie. Elsewhere, Fraserburgh won 2-1 at Keith and Huntly defeated Fort William 2-0 at home. Turriff lost 2-1 to Rothes with Formartine thrasing Brora 4-1 and Wick defeating Clach 2-1 in Inverness.
