Scotland v Israel postponed indefinitely

Former Celtic target on why he rejected move

Andraz Sporar has confirmed why he rejected a move to Celtic, revealed the Daily Record.

The striker was a key target for Neil Lennon in January but had his heart set on a move to Sporting in Portugal.

Why Stokes rejected Strachan

Former Celtic ace Anthony Stokes revealed he rejected a move to Parkhead under Gordon Strachan.

Talking to former Hibs team mate Marvin Bartley, the Irishman confirmed there was talk but was put off by what Strachan said and what he had heard from Aiden McGeady.

Stokes said: "I went to see Celtic first because that was the only place I wanted to go. I can't remember who was up front at the time for Celtic. But Strachan goes to me, 'oh you're going to be number three'.

"I just said to him, 'but I've scored more than the two of them put together?'

"But he said to me, 'no, you'll be number three and you'll get your chance coming off the bench.'"

Leagues committed to finishing the season

Hearts will agree to wage deferral

Hearts players will agree to a wage cut proposed by the club but only if it is in the form of a deferral, according to reports.

PFA Scotland have intervened on behalf of the players to request that any wages lost during the cuts will be paid back in full.

Hutton tips Rangers exit for Polster

Ex-Rangers defender Alan Hutton reckons Matt Polster will leave Ibrox this summer.

The American has been a bit-part player this season.

Hutton told Football Insider: “It’s maybe another one that Gerrard will be looking at in the summer to have a clear-out and to get some fresh faces in.”

Sutton questions Rangers' finances

Ex-Celtic ace Chris Sutton believes it is only a matter of time before Rangers look to implement wage cuts.

Rivals Celtic have admitted that they may go down that route in the next month.

Writing in the Daily Record, Sutton said: "Unless Dave King left a giant pit of money as big as the gaping hole in football’s finances as he walked out of the door, given what is happening around the globe at the moment, the Light Blues hierarchy have to be making a similar move. If they aren’t, they must be the richest club in Europe and we just didn’t know it."

He added: "In find it inconceivable bordering on reckless that Rangers won’t do the same thing."

Hibs take signing stance

Hibs won't make any signings until any wage cut or deferral system is over.

According to the Scottish Sun, owner Ron Gordon has implemented the stance.

Hibs players and management are set to agree to a 20 per cent pay cut.
