Scott Allan glad to end Hibs’ losing run
Allan, 23, said: “It was just good to get back to winning ways. It was a bit nervy near the end considering the number of chances we had created. There was a bit of frustration in there as well, but overall we were happy just to get the three points before the game against Hearts on Sunday.
“We’ve been creating a lot of chances but for one reason or another it’s not gone our way and we’ve lost some poor goals on the counter attack. It’s good to get the three points on Wednesday night at Dumbarton after the three defeats we had.”

Hide AdOn paper the win over Dumbarton should have been a routine victory, but the number of gilt-edged chances that Hibs scorned made it a much tougher affair than it should have been. Allan added: “It was massive to get the win, not just going into the derby, but for the play-offs as well. We lost three games so we had to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. It was one of the biggest games we’ve had to date, just because of the derby coming up.”
Allan paid tribute to great rivals Hearts, not just for their title win but also for the emphatic way in which they claimed the Championship crown.
He added: “Derby games take care of themselves. I can show bits here and there and hopefully I can make it count on Sunday. Hearts will be up for it just as much as we are, especially coming to Easter Road as champions. They will obviously be wanting to make a point.
“I’d like to win one of these derbies. Having played so well at Tynecastle and conceding a late goal was disappointing. So I’d just like to get a win. We are looking to get into second place, which is massive for us.
“To be fair they are worthy champions and they have come through tricky games and won games comfortably, which is something that both Rangers and ourselves have not been able to do this season. For us it is about looking after ourselves and our pride.”
