Ross County boss John Hughes revels in taking Hibs' scalp as 'wonderful' Staggies move off the bottom
Goals from Harry Paton and ex-Hibs striker Oli Shaw sealed the win as the Dingwall outfit jumped above Hamilton into 11th place.
The win was the first since Hughes took over less than two weeks ago and he praised his team for playing some “wonderful” stuff.

“I don’t want them reading something like that. It’s all about my team. But now that we have won it I can say Hibs are a great team and Jack’s doing a fantastic job.
“So to come here and take their scalp with an honest hard-working performance is great. And I felt we played some wonderful stuff in the first half.
“I’m just delighted for the boys but it’s only one win. We are not getting carried away. We are where we are for a reason and we are a work in progress.”

Hide AdHughes revealed that he has had barely any time to work with his team and revelled in them keeping a clean sheet.
“It’s been very difficult. I’ve been in nine days and had three games so I’ve not really been on the training ground.
“I’ve stood back to see what I’ve got and the sessions the coaching staff are putting on are exactly what I’m looking for.
“We’ve conceded too many goals but we had a solid shape tonight. The pleasing thing for me was keeping a clean sheet.”

Hide AdHughes now wants his players to build on the morale-boosting victory, with St Johnstone up next.
“It has to give them confidence but I’m saying to them that we are keeping our feet on the ground,” added Hughes.
“It’s only one game. We will enjoy it and we will go again against St Johnstone, which will be a whole different game.
“But surely that must give us a wee lift. It gives me a wee lift seeing the hard work and what I’ve got here in this team.
“Hopefully we can build on this.”
