Pat Fenlon forgets Scottish Cup to focus on SPL

Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon insists he has “no interest whatsoever” in the William Hill Scottish Cup final until their league campaign is over.

Hibs reached the final thanks to a dramatic victory over Falkirk last Saturday and saw their European qualification all but assured the following day when champions-elect Celtic booked their Hampden return.

But defeat by Celtic the previous weekend had consigned Hibs to the bottom six of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and Fenlon admits he is still hurting from that failure.

So his focus is on alleviating the SPL disappointment, starting with the home game against Aberdeen on Monday night, rather than looking ahead to their Hampden date with Celtic on 26 May.

Fenlon said: “To be honest I’m not interested in the final. I have no interest whatsoever in it.

“We have a massive game on Monday and that’s all I’m thinking about it.

“We have got five big league games and I want to finish the season strongly and that’s all I’m thinking about.”
