Thomson ‘lacks right profile’ for La Liga

FORMER Hibs captain Kevin Thomson has failed to land a move to Spain’s La Liga – because his profile has “diminished”.

Thomson, who last month was released by Middlesbrough, is looking to find a club after an injury-ridden three years at the Riverside.

Real Valladolid, who currently
lie 13th in the Spanish top flight, had been considering a move for the 28-year-old, who left Easter Road for Rangers in 2007. However, Valladolid’s sporting director Alberto
Marcos today revealed the move will not be happening.

“We looked at Kevin Thomson, but we also looked at
another 150,000 players,” said Marcos.

“His profile has diminished. The problem is economic
constraints and also some of these players are not in good physical condition.”
