SPL Fanzone: Hibernian

SATURDAY’S cup game against Cowdenbeath provided a more-than-welcome distraction from our poor league campaign.

Given our form recently it was refreshing that so many Hibs fans made the journey to cheer on the team. The locals certainly deserve full marks for the warm, friendly welcome given in the town’s pubs. The game? It is probably best described as job done and left at that. Seeing Cowdenbeath take the lead after only 20 seconds provoked a nervous “here we go again” reaction from most visiting fans rather than anger and despair though.

Our next league game against Dunfermline is the classic six-pointer. Hopefully the team will have drawn some confidence from Saturday’s victory and it will be another successful away day to Fife. With the season now over halfway through, every point is going to be vital if we are to avoid the dreaded drop.
